2010 Beijing Intellectual Property Subsidy Policy

I. A national patent application fee mitigation

   1. Subsidized objects and conditions

The company or individuals who are really hard to pay the patent fee,

Or the individual whose personal income is less 25,000; or the company is hard to afford the patent fee.

   2. Subsidized contents and amount

A. individual:

Reduce 85% of the application fee, examination fee for invention patent and annual fee.

Reduce 80% of the invention patent application maintenance and review fees

B. Company or two or more individuals, or individuals and company:

Reduce 70% of the application fee, examination fee for invention patents and annual fee.

Reduce 60% of patent applications and review, the maintenance fee

C. Two or more companies are excluded.

II. Awards for patent application in Beijing

  1. Subsidized objects and conditions

  Companies or individuals who can comply with the following conditions:

1)      Electronic, information, optical electromechanical integration, bioengineering, new medicine, new materials, environmental protection and energy saving industries

2)      For other technical fields and industries, but high-tech

3)      Has a good market prospect

  2. Subsidized content and amount

    1) The patent application fee: RMB 950, and substantive examination fee: RMB 1200

    2) The patent application surcharge half the amount of actual expenditure

    3) The application fee for utility model and design: RMB 150

    4) The units of patent application is over 1000 for a company in one year, from the 101 patent application, the subsidized fee for each application is RMB 1000 and the subsidized fee for the licensed invention is RMB 1500.

For foreign patent:

   1)  Through the PCT channel to file the patent applications, the applicant can be funded in stages. For the international stage the subsidized fee is RMB 10,000 for each item,   while for the national stage the subsidized fee is RMB 10,000 for each item.

   2) Through other means to file the patent applications for companies, the subsidized fee is RMB 20,000 for each item for each country.

If the applicant files the same patent application to a number of countries, the maximum of subsidy is five countries. Each company per year can get RMB500,000 for foreign patent applications.

If the number of foreign patent applications is over 10 for each company per year, then each company can get RMB 10,000 for each item of this year.
